This deep midnight red sets off any eye color and complexion beautifully. Here, if it is dressed down with a casual, sporty feel, but this striking color can equally well be used for an evening look.

For simple makeup, you need either cake eyeliner with a brush, or liquid eyeliner. If you are using cake liner, mix it carefully with water, using a brush. Never wet the eyeliner directly from the tap. It is better to have a small bowl of water on your dressing table. Keep the bowl filled with clean water and rinse brushes after use to prevent the bristles becoming clogged with old makeup.

For this line, choose a thin brush. If you want to thicken up the line, draw a base line right along the top of the lashes first, for guidance, and then build on it with separate brush strokes.

Use red mascara for this look, as it is better to have a strong, darker color.
