Beauty counters always display a bewildering variety of eyeshadow colors, but it is not necessary to have an artist’s palette in order to create the look you want. This is an attractive, youthful look which requires the minimum of equipment. Any blusher can double as eyeshadow, so why not pick your favorite and apply it to your eyes as well as to your cheeks? After all, you know it suits you. Many packs of blusher come with a flat, wide brush, which is an ideal tool for applying blusher to the eyelid. Work upwards to the brow from the middle; do not take it out sideways. Avoid putting any blusher directly under the eye, as most blushers have a pinkish tinge which could make your eyes look like red eyeshadow. Placing a tissue under the eye will help to prevent falling blusher from smudging on the face. This is a useful, basic makeup – excellent for work, because it does not necessitate an enormous repair kit.

It can easily be enhanced if you want to make a change.

• Using a brush, take blusher across upper lid, work upwards to the brow from the middle of the lid.

• Using the same blusher, apply a small amount to the cheek and blend in well.

• Apply brown or black mascara
